THE COURT OFFICE IS OPEN 9:00 A.M. TO 3:00 P.M. MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AND WILL BE CLOSED FROM 12:00 P.M. TO 12:30 P.M. EVERY DAY. ON TUESDAYS WHEN COURT IS IN SESSION THE COURT OFFICE WILL CLOSE AT 12:00 P.M.

THE COURT OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ON ALL FEDERAL HOLIDAYS, ELECTION DAY AND FOR SCHEDULED TRAINING.

Court sessions are held on Tuesdays.  You may still enter the building to make payments and return traffic pleas on these days during court sessions however, no civil filings will be accepted during court sessions. NO EXCEPTIONS.

CIVIL MATTERS INCLUDING SMALL CLAIMS AND SUMMARY PROCEEDINGS

Please refer to the links to the right for documents and information regarding civil filings.  You may call the court office during the hours listed above for information and instructions regarding the filing of civil matters, keeping in mind that court staff may not give legal advice or assistance with filing procedures other than how to access the Court.  No civil filings may be left in the outside drop box.  Please note that no personal or business checks will be accepted for civil filings.

* No court filings will be accepted and/or processed during court sessions – no exceptions. Court filings will only be accepted at the court office during business hours.

RETURNING TRAFFIC PLEAS AND/OR MAKING PAYMENTS OUTSIDE OF COURT OFFICE HOURS

There is a locked drop box labelled “Court Documents Only” located to the left of the double doors on the parking lot side of the building.  You may leave traffic pleas or payments labelled with the date of birth inside the locked drop box.

*Note:  No civil filings of any type may be left in the locked drop box.

MARRIAGE CEREMONIES

* Town Justices are available to perform marriage ceremonies on an appointment basis. Please contact the court office for more information.  You may also consult the Town Clerk’s webpage on this website for information with regard to the requirements for applying for a marriage license or refer to the New York State Department of Health website at:    https://www.health.ny.gov/publications/4210
