The Town of Cairo is updating our Comprehensive Plan, which is required to apply for the New York Forward program. If successful, we could access millions in state funding to strengthen and improve our downtown. You can read more about this process at cairocompplan.com.
💡 Potential ways we could use the funds:
- Small business assistance fund to support local storefronts
- Better Main Street lighting, walkways to the park, and parking
- More affordable, high-quality apartments
- Attracting new businesses like a restaurant and hotel
